Mary
Mary (she/her) is a clinical counseling intern pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Drama Therapy at Lesley University. She provides therapy for adult individuals integrating humanistic, liberation psychology, and creative arts frameworks to support clients in their journeys of meaning-making through life’s challenges.
Mary’s approach is trauma- and attachment-informed, emphasizing creative and embodied methods to help clients explore the emotional roots of their challenges through storytelling, art-making, and expressive techniques. Her fundamental belief is that people make sense – that every part of us, even those shaped by pain, can be understood through compassion and curiosity. She works under supervision using evidence-informed approaches including drama therapy, expressive arts, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) frameworks. Mary welcomes clients from diverse spiritual and cultural backgrounds and holds a particular interest in supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, young adults, and those navigating complex trauma, religious trauma, dissociation, or existential questions of purpose and belonging.
Aside from her clinical work, Mary has experience as an interdisciplinary artist and enjoys music-making, creative writing, dancing, and acting. She welcomes artists and creatives who are interested in exploring their craft in the therapeutic space. Mary also welcomes and affirms clients who are neurodivergent, gender expansive, and those exploring diverse relationship structures, including polyamory, kink, and asexual or aromantic identities.
Mary is a white, able-bodied, English-speaking queer woman born in the southern U.S. who identifies as spiritual and not religious. She acknowledges that these identities and more may influence the dynamics of the therapeutic relationship and encourages clients to bring any concerns or questions regarding these dynamics into the therapy space.
