He has also contributed to research on mindfulness and its effects on anxiety, substance use, and depression, as well as research on psychiatric comorbidities that disproportionately affect diverse communities. He is particularly passionate about advocating for and supporting immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers on their journey to well-being.
Stiven’s clinical and research experiences have shaped his trauma-informed, mindfulness, and strengths-based therapeutic model. He believes in the necessity for holistic, culturally informed care, and recognizes the unique struggles faced by individuals from diverse identities. By incorporating scientifically validated methods and prioritizing an approach that is individually tailored to each client, Stiven aims to create a brave space where clients can heal, grow, and develop the skills to empower themselves to overcome any challenge.
In his free time, Stiven enjoys meditating, staying active, and watching anime or playing video games.
