Syona
Syona is currently pursuing a PsyD in Clinical Psychology at William James College, and has found a passion for helping people help themselves. With her background in the entertainment industry, she understands the need for creative expression in emotional healing journeys. Having engaged in both research and social work, she has dedicated her time to exploring and expanding her knowledge in the mental health field to create ideal and individualized therapeutic relationships.
She gained experience in the social work field while working with individuals with I/DD, and parents and children involved in the foster care system. In addition to her field work, Syona has been involved in research dedicated to investigating trauma, interpersonal relationships, and the intersection of psychology and the law.
As a South Asian American woman who grew up on the Mexican border, Syona understands how deeply personal and unique cultural experience is to every person. She firmly believes in the importance of individualized therapy, and aims to create a safe and comfortable environment. Because of her background and experiences, she approaches therapy with an open and non-judgemental attitude.
